Tiger Football BBQ Celebration and
Hall of Fame Recognition and Induction
St. John’s H.S. and the Alumni Association hosted a community BBQ and celebration on Wednesday May 22, 2019
While the weather did not cooperate, the football spring camp continued with a number of former players watching the action.
The BBQ was manned by Ben Shedden and many volunteers helped with serving the food.
In the senior gym, football memorabilia was displayed through the decades from the 1930's to present day. Many jackets donated by former players, old jerseys & equipment and the annual football trophies along with the Championship Centennial Trophy were also on display. Al Lukashuk (1951-54) donated his 1952-53 Football jacket. Thank you.
Another table honoured the Varsity Boys 2018-19 Basketball Championship along with photos and banners of previous championship teams.
The WHSFL and St. John's Hall of Fame recipients who were previously inducted were recognized and honoured with two new Hall of Fame plaques
Two St. John's Tigers were inducted into the St. John's Hall of Fame.
Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who helped with the organization, set up, running and clean up and make the event a success.
